Meet the Team
(Board Member only) Nidhi Aggarwal has a combination of strong technological and management expertise. She has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UW-Madison and has patents on virtualization and high availability. She has worked at VMware, Intel and HP Labs and most recently at McKinsey and Company advising high tech companies on Cloud Computing and Big Data strategy. She is currently at TAMR Inc. leading the Strategy and Marketing efforts.
Dave Chen is a start-up and technology veteran of 20 years with a solid track record in building scalable web businesses. With a Ph.D. from the MIT Media Lab, Dave combines strong implementation, product and operational skills -- complementing the team both in terms of execution and vision.
Josh Gan has been an engineer in the Boston startup scene for a decade, and professionally developing educational software since high school. He earned most of his street cred as the co-founder and CTO of Privy, a marketing platform used by over 30,000 small businesses around the globe. Josh studied Computer Science and Cognitive Science at Brown University.
Will Koffel has been leading technology-focused startup teams for almost 20 years. From the founding engineering team that left MIT to start Akamai, Will has held CTO roles at 4 venture-backed startups. Most recently, Will co-founded Outlearn, changing how teams think about training with developer-native publishing tools. Prior experience includes roles as CTO at Thumb, a highly-engaging mobile consumer opinion gathering platform, and CTO/VP of Operations at Sermo, the professional social network for physicians. He launched the Boston chapter of Venwise and has served as an advisor and mentor-in-residence for many Boston area startups. Will received B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Music Composition from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Enis Konuk brings more than 25 years of experience managing global technology organizations to his role.
Most recently he was VP of Worldwide Professional Services and Education at VMware, where he was responsible for a team of sales engineers, consultants, technical account managers and trainers.
Casey Palowitch has been helping educators improve outcomes with technology for the past 20 years, most recently as VP Operations with the Apollo Education Services division of Apollo Group, and earlier with Oracle and Sun Microsystems. Leading up to Sun's acquisition by Oracle, Casey led Solution Architecture and Business Development for the $1B global Government Education and Healthcare Industries vertical. Casey draws upon experiences leading educational technology initiatives at Princeton University and at University of Pittsburgh, and in consultancies in the private and public sector. Casey holds degrees from the University of Pittsburgh in Information Science (MSIS) and in Public and International Affairs (MPIA).
Emily Linde brings a background in training and product management and a passion for combining technology with learning. She started her career as a tech writer and has worked in marketing, QA, and project management. Recently she managed the Product group at an education technology company. Away from her desk, Emily hikes with her hounds and trains for marathons.
Steve Rivera is the local pixel pusher. A total convert to the start-up scene, Steve led the design and front-end team at LevelUp, seeing it through rapid growth from 20 to over 100 employees with a national presence. He got his eye for design from his years in the art world, first as a researcher in the Contemporary Art Department at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, then as a curator for a large private collection. Steve received his B.A. from Harvard University.
Jordan Rushing has been coding since he was 16 and building his own businesses since he was 12. A business student at University of North Florida, Jordan is versed in business and taught himself computer engineering while running his own business and working in culinary arts.
Jordan started his professional engineering career for a Boston start up, Teikametrics, helping them to reach high success buying other companies. Afterwards he joined Gazelle, building out new features that helped grow the business enough to be bought out by a multi-national corporation.
Ken Sauter has over 35 years of experience in the Information Technology sector working with Enterprise customers.
Beginning his career at IBM as a Marketing Representative, he has held Executive Sales & Marketing Management positions at Sigma Design, Computervision, Apple Computer and Sun Microsystems.
Jitesh Shetty is a product entrepreneur with more than 10 years of professional experience. He has a graduate degree in computer science from the University of Southern California where he did extensive research in the graph and text mining area and was one of the early researchers to use the Enron email dataset for academic research. He worked for Symantec in the enterprise security team and then worked at Yahoo! in the Yahoo Open Strategy team as a Sr. Technical Yahoo and finally as a technical lead. He was an early team member at Dhingana Inc where he worked very closely with the founders from 2005-2007. He also co-founded a technology consulting start-up in 2007 in the bay area focused on analytics software.
Jeff Whatcott has provided strategy, product, and go-to-market leadership for many category-defining technology businesses including early stage venture-backed startups, mid-size public companies, and established global super-brands. A veteran of Brightcove, Acquia, Adobe, and Compaq, Jeff has co-founded one venture-backed startup, launched multiple companies and new products, supported multiple successful IPOs, multiple acquisitions, and led international expansion initiatives across EMEA, APAC, and Japan.
Jeff most recently served as co-founder and CEO of Outlearn, which was acquired by Qwiklabs in 2016. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Master of Business Administration degree from Brigham Young University. Fluent in Japanese, Jeff has extensive experience living, working, and traveling overseas.
